birthday celebration and letterboxing

Sorry for the lack of posting this past week. After we got Walker over strep throat, we moved on to William's stomach virus. Needless to say, we were all glad to see the pretty weather this weekend - sunshine does wonders for killing those nasty germs and making us all feel much, much better. As a matter of fact, I'm going to try to make this a quick post since today is gorgeous as well!

My sister's birthday was yesterday. We spent the day with her and her family as well as my parents at Paris Mountain - perfect day!!! My dad grilled some "mean" burgers, the cousins enjoyed some play time and we all soaked up the beautiful day. We discovered something new that could quite possibly become some crazy obsession - letterboxing. We had never heard of it, but my sister had done the research. Basically, it is like a scavenger hunt for all ages. And best of all, these hidden boxes are everywhere! If you want to know more (as I did as soon as I we returned home), you can visit http://www.letterboxing.org/ The boys had a ball. Here are some pics from the day...
